Room 6's little fishes

WOW! Room 6 received some great feedback from the swimming teachers yesterday. They are all so impressed by the progress Room 6 are making, it was fantastic to hear!!

We had students swimming from one end of nans pool to the other, but hang on, they swam the entire way UNDER WATER!! We had students floating on their front and back for their first time. We had students swimming UNAIDED for the first time!!  Just amazing!!!

Painting on canvas

Room 6 have made a start on their awesome Hundertwasser inspired canvas backgrounds. These pieces of art are going to look fantastic once complete!!

               

           

ICT time

We have been editing our anti-bullying videos in iMovie. We hope to share some of our creations in assembly during week 8!

Room 6 students worked really well in teams today, Class Dojo points all round for teamwork!!!

Week 7 swimming fun!

Today Room 6 had a great session at the pool. There was lots of kicking practise followed by freestyle stroke refinement and front and back floating.

Making an evaluation

So after one whole week we have made an evaluation about our Inquiry experiment. We learnt that the heat from the sun caused the water to evaporate from the plastic cup. This water would turn into condensation, which can be seen on the inside of the bag, which would then run off in to the collection point at the bottom of the bag. The water on the side of the bag could also be precipitation because no clouds were able to form for precipitation to occur.

We then asked ourselves......will the water cycle happen again?? Will the water in the bottom of the bag be able to get back into the cup through the water cycle happening? What do you think??

Estimating and measuring in cms and mms.

Room 6 having fun making estimates of how long, wide and deep different items are around our classroom.  After estimating, students had to use a ruler to see how close their estimates actually were to the measurement in cms and mms. 

 
 
 

Buddy reading with Room 5

Every week we spend some time reading with our buddy class, Room 5. This week we read a variety of poems with each other. Some of our favourites included: Our Teacher, In Our Library, Water and Machine Riddles.
